I am 54 years old, married to Missy, and we have 3 adult daughters,
one good dog, one bad dog, and an aging cat that refuses to go
towards the light. We live on the beach in
Oak Island, NC
where, in addition to being a local
police officer
and a member of the
Oak Island Water Rescue Team, I have
been a professional software engineer for over 30 years.
I have many hobbies including classic cars, motorcycles (currently own a 2006 Yamaha FJR1300),
fishing
and kayaking, jogging,
paramotoring,
and eating at
BBQ House.
I have recently retired from a life-long love of experimental aircraft
and fixed-wing aircraft flying (due to costs), and am
learning how to fly paramotors.
I hold a private pilot license with instrument rating and commercial UAS (drone)
license that I use to operate search and rescue drones for
Oak Island Water Rescue.
In other words, I am a fairly non-traditional geek. I hide the
nerd under kevlar body armor, an extroverted personality, and enough
stale testosterone to get me into old age. I don't care much for
social media, but you can find me on
Facebook
or once or twice a year on
LinkedIn.
I'm old school, so if you really want to reach me, please do so by
email using my first and last name @gmail.
